For this R&D project, we were asked to envision ways in which the initial version of the Android platform could seamlessly integrate with social networking services (before Droid and Nexus One).
Android Social Networking Platform
June 23, 2009LikeMe Application for Palm Pre
March 18, 2009We partnered with UE Architects to pioneer application design for the Palm Pre. LikeMe, one of the first applications for WebOS, can help you find the perfect place to eat, stay, or meet people. This project was particularly challenging, since we designed the UX without ever seeing the yet-to-be-shipped (and incredibly secret) Palm Pre.
Orange GiftToPhone
October 10, 2008Avaya iPhone Application
February 17, 2008Avaya’s one-X Mobile software transparently manages calls across multiple locations and handsets, as well as providing visual voicemail and call filtering. Given the extraordinary popularity of the Apple iPhone, Avaya needed an immediate solution for this platform. In the absence of a native SDK we opted to create a Web application that mimics the standard iPhone UI.
Devicescape Web Site
January 15, 2008Devicescape software makes it easy for users to seamlessly connect their devices to Wi-Fi networks. As the company migrated its focus from businesses to consumers, they needed to expand the functionality of the Web site to allow users to create personalized accounts with associated devices. Devicescape also wanted to monetize the site by selling Wi-Fi plans. We designed an automated system which recommends plans and displays coverage on a map.
Kodak Picture Upload Technology
May 25, 2007Traditionally a film-based company, Kodak has successfully migrated to the world of digital photography and still continues to deliver tools that fit the needs of the average American consumer. Many of these customers are now taking pictures with their mobile phones, but are unable to successfully transfer those pictures to their PCs. Donkin Creative was hired to design a user experience that would make picture transfers easy and transparent. The subsequent product automatically transfers pictures over a Bluetooth connection whenever the user is in range of their PC. This solution requires no software on the handset. The only interface is a simple Windows Control Panel and an indicator in the Task Tray.
Mobidia Video Conferencing Application
February 27, 2007Kodak Mobile Service
December 16, 2004Kodak Gallery alllows users to store, view, and share their pictures online. Kodak recognized that many of their customers were capturing pictures with their mobile phones. These users wanted access to their online gallery services directly from the phone. As a result, we designed a baseline user experience for the handset, using Nokia’s Series 60 platform. We then migrated this design for numerous mass market handsets including Sony Ericsson, Motorola, and Nokia Series 40.
Palm Viewer
July 28, 2003Photo Viewer debuted on the Zire 71 which launched in Spring 2003. Palm understood that handheld computers were moving beyond just being personal information managers and introduced a media-centric consumer line. This particular model feaured a camera and MP3 player. Photo Viewer allowed users to easily view, organize and edit images taken with the camera. It also synchronized with a desktop component in the Palm Desktop Software.
